In the 11th league match of IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a jubilant victory over Chennai Super Kings. The match took place at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, where CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and elected to bowl first. RCB took full advantage of the conditions, posting a massive total of 250 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in their allotted overs. Chasing this mammoth target, Chennai Super Kings were bowled out for 207 runs in 19.4 overs, resulting in a 43-run defeat.
The RCB innings began with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli at the crease, though the start was not particularly explosive. Virat Kohli failed to play a big innings, falling for 28 runs off 18 balls, while Phil Salt contributed 46 runs off 30 balls. The momentum shifted as Devdutt Padikkal struck a solid half-century with 50 runs off 29 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar led from the front with a blistering unbeaten 48 runs off just 19 balls, but it was Tim David who stole the show. He smashed a sensational 70 runs off only 25 balls, decorated with 3 boundaries and 8 sixes, finishing with an incredible strike rate of 280.
Chennai’s chase was marred by an early collapse as Sanju Samson was dismissed for 9, Ruturaj Gaikwad for 7, and Ayush Mhatre for only 1 run. Sarfaraz Khan provided some resistance with a well-made 50 runs, supported by Prashant Veer’s 43 and Overton’s 37, but the mounting run rate proved too much. On the bowling front for RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the standout performer with 3 wickets, while Duffy, Abhinandan Singh, and Krunal Pandya each claimed 2 wickets to secure the win for the home team.
