BENGALURU: The Sadashivanagar Police have successfully cracked a high-profile office burglary case involving a builder and mining business. In a twist, the mastermind behind the theft turned out to be an employee working within the same firm.

On the night of February 19, 2026, burglars broke the glass door of an office on BEL Road and decamped with ₹91,76,000 in cash from the office drawer.Following a complaint filed on February 20, the police launched a multi-dimensional probe. On February 22, they tracked down a suspect in Shivamogga along with the car used in the crime.

During interrogation, the arrested suspect revealed that an employee of the firm had provided tip-offs about the large sum of cash kept in the office. This employee was subsequently arrested in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, the same day.Based on the suspects’ statements, the police conducted a raid in Shivamogga on February 25. They recovered ₹81,66,000 in cash from the father of an absconding accomplice.

The two main accused were produced before the court and remanded to police custody for 10 days. While a significant portion of the stolen money has been recovered, the police are currently tracking down two other individuals involved in the crime who are still at large.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP (Central Division) Mr. Akshay M. Hakay (IPS) and led by ACP B. Ramachandra and Sadashivanagar Police Inspector Pradeep B., along with PSI Sameer Avati and other dedicated staff members.
