“An inspiring story of quick response and humanity has emerged from Bengaluru’s Peenya Police Station limits. A 12-year-old girl, who had lost her way and was in a state of panic, was safely rescued and reunited with her parents by the Peenya Police in just 12 minutes.
On February 21, 2026, at around 09:36 AM, local residents noticed a young girl sitting alone and looking distressed in front of a house in the Peenya area. When questioned, the girl revealed she had forgotten the way back to her home. Concerned for her safety, the public immediately contacted the ‘Namma-112’ emergency helpline.
The ‘Namma-112’ staff immediately alerted the Hoysala-116 patrol team. ASI Mr. Satish Kumar and Police Constable Mr. Veeresh reached the spot in a record 12 minutes. They comforted the child, gathered her details, and brought her to the station. After coordinated efforts, they successfully contacted her parents and handed her over safely.
This incident highlights the efficiency of the Bengaluru City Police under the Safe City Project, ensuring the safety and welfare of children through rapid action and coordination.”
