Bengaluru: On Sunday, Kannada filmmaker Guruprasad, who is renowned for his films Mata and Yeddelu Manjunatha, was discovered hanging at a residence in a private apartment building on the city’s northern fringes.
Police have not officially determined the cause of death, but they believe the 52-year-old director committed suicide two days ago. After a horrible stench prompted neighbors to call the police, the highly decomposed body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in the Madanayakanahalli apartment. Bengaluru Rural’s Superintendent of Police (SP), CK Baba, gave the media confirmation of the occurrence.
According to reliable police sources, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was helping a police squad search the apartment.
The body of Guruprasad has been moved for a post-mortem examination. Guruprasad is renowned for his socially conscious films. Mata, Yeradanesala, Yeddelu Manjunatha, Director Special, and other works are among his greatest.
