Bengaluru : It is reported that the CCB police have arrested seven accused in the case of illegally collecting CDR (call detail record) in the name of detective agencies. Bengaluru  City Police Commissioner B. Dayanand said that the CCB and Vijayanagar sub-division police, which operated jointly in Vijayanagar and Govindarajanagar police stations, checked the offices of Mahanagari Detective Services and Security Solution Private Limited and Rajdhani Corporate Service and registered three cases.

Generally, investigating agencies investigating cases are legally empowered to collect CDRs. Unauthorized posting of CDR will be a charge of infringing on the privacy of the public. However, the accused, who had rented the buildings to set up a detective agency, were colluding with agents of service provider companies and collecting CDRs of mobile numbers of different persons without obtaining a license from the government. It has been learned that they used to give them to criminals and others to get money.

It has now come to light that the accused have obtained the CDR of a total of 43 mobile numbers. A total of three cases have been registered in Vijayanagara and Govindaraja city and it is learned that a total of seven accused have been arrested so far.

The investigation of the case has been transferred to the CCB police, for what purpose did the accused get the CDR?, how did they get it? Making money by giving false reports? Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B. Dayanand informed that an investigation is being conducted.
