Bengaluru : Son of Holenarseepur MLA HD Revanna and sitting MP of Hassan Prajwal Revanna has been accused of sexual harassment and the special investigation team has started its investigation in this regard.
The case broke out after one of the women victims filed a complaint with the State Women’s Commission. Also, obscene videos of sexual assault have gone viral on social media.
A SIT team led by ADGP-CID Bijay Kumar Singh including Additional Commissioner Suman D Pennekar and Mysore SP Seema Latkar has started investigation into the case.
The police have registered a case under IPC Sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (embarrassment of a woman), 506 (intimidation), 509 (insulting the dignity of a woman), making Revanna the 1st accused and
Following the government’s notice, the SIT is likely to start an investigation at the MP quarters at RC Road, Hassan, where the statements of the victimized women are likely to be recorded if they come forward.
The SIT team is collecting the pen drives containing the videos and is preparing to send them to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further investigation.
Also, there is a possibility of issuing a notice to the accused Prajwal and Revanna in the case and there is a possibility of conducting an inquiry. Sources said that a lookout notice will be issued soon to record the statements of Prajwal Revanna.

According to reports, Prajwal and his friends left for Germany on Saturday for a seven-day trip after the second phase of polling ended on Friday.
A woman working in the house complained that Revanna and Prajwal sexually harassed her when she was alone in the house.
Chairperson of the Women’s Commission Nagalakshmi Chaudhary said that approximately 2,876 women have been exploited by Prajwal and she has received a complaint in this regard on her WhatsApp account.
In response, Prajwal filed an FIR against Naveen Gowda of Belur in Hassan district, also denying the allegations leveled against him.
He said that the video has been prepared and efforts are being made to harm my charisma during the elections.
Pappajwal filed the FIR a day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah referred the case to an SIT probe.
In the meantime, the Women’s Commission has urged the government to take strict action against the culprits, and the government has instructed the SIT to submit a report on the case at the earliest.
