Bengaluru : The Lokayukta police on Tuesday arrested three persons, including the assistant director of the BBMP planning department, on charges of accepting bribes in relation to filing the amount of official fee to be paid for the issuance of possession certificate for a commercial complex in the HSR layout of the city.
Bommanahalli Zone Assistant Director Pattana Shetty, First Grade Assistant Krishna and Mediator Ravi have been arrested.
The Lokayukta police had launched an operation based on a complaint filed by Kiran Kumar. A bribe of Rs.26 lakhs was demanded to issue a title deed in the name of Kiran Kumar’s relative Padmavati. However, when they said that they could not give that much money, the final agreement was negotiated for Rs.3 lakhs.
Rs.96,500 was given as advance on December 1, 2022. The Lokayukta police had launched an operation on Tuesday when the mediator Ravi and Krishna were given Rs.2.3 lakhs. Officials said that a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and the accused have been arrested and legal action has been taken.
