Karnataka : Kannada Pro Activists of the Praveen Kumar Shetty of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedeke staged an innovative protest over the border dispute by honoring the drivers and operators of the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation.
The Kannada Pro Activist honored the drivers and operators of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation by garlanding them and wrapping them in shawls with the Karnataka emblem. Through this, he sent a message that “don’t damage government property like buses that provide service to the people of Karnataka and Maharashtra due to the border dispute.
After the protest, the activists submitted a letter to the Athani Tehsildar Suresh Munge and submitted a request to the Chief Minister demanding that the government hold an all-party meeting to discuss the border dispute. Meanwhile, he demanded that legal experts and pro-Kannada organizations should be invited to the meeting.
In the petition, they demanded protection of Kannadigas coming to Karnataka from Maharashtra and ban of political parties like Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Integration Samithi in Karnataka.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedeke Taluk President Annasab Telasanga led the protest. District Coordinator Jagannath Bamane, Deepaka Shinde and others were present.
