Chitradurga: The police have taken into custody the 5th accused in connection with the case of Shivamurthy Muruga Shri of Muragha Mutt, who is under arrest on the charge of sexually assaulting minor girls.
It is known that lawyer Gangadharaiah, who is the 5th main accused in the case, surrendered to the police on Tuesday and it is said that Gangadharaiah is being interrogated at the DySP office in Chitradurga.
The heir of the monastery who is the 3rd accused in the case and the 4th accused Paramashivaiah and the 3rd accused Basavadhitya have not been found by the police so far. A search is on for his arrest.
The police have asked Lady Warden Rashmi, the 2nd accused in the Pocso case against Murughashree, to be remanded in their custody for 7 days for questioning. He is currently under judicial custody in Shimoga Jail. It is likely that the police will get an instruction in this regard today from the 2nd District Court and Sessions Court. Investigation of the case is going on under the leadership of DYS Anil Kumar.
