Bengaluru :A police officer’s primary duty is to prevent crime and arrest the accused. There are very few police officers who do not think this is their duty and go beyond their limits and work in various ways for building a healthy society. Among such rare officers, Inspector L Y Rajesh of Bandepalya Police Station in Bengaluru has been identified.

Inspector L Y Rajesh is not only doing his duty with uniform, but also trying to shape the future of the next generation by building a healthy society.
A 16-year-old boy named Raj Kumar from Bihar appeared for the 10th class examination in May 2022. But as Kannada language was very difficult for him, he failed to pass the exam. His mother works as a cook in an apartment of HSR Layout. His background was like this, and as a result of his failure in the examination, there was a possibility that he would stop his studies. But it was Bandepallya police station officer LY Rajesh who brought him out of these possibilities and made him pass the exam successfully.
The student Rajkumar was given the required special training by Inspector L Y Rajesh in just 21 days and as a result he passed the examination and is now joining Vijaya College for pre-graduation.

For me, it was difficult to learn the basics, teachers like Geeta, Manju helped me to learn the basics, I did a lot of preparation to face the exam. The Inspector L Y Rajesh arranged for the training. As a result, I passed the exam in second rank with 355 marks, says RajKumar.

Inspector L Y Rajesh said that after the results came, I was worried about the students who failed in my duties. Students drop out without any help to pass, some of whom are likely to commit criminal acts. In one of the cases I handled, an accused failed to pass his examination during trial. The accused stated no one cared about him. He said that if someone had helped me to pass then, I would not have become a criminal today. This inspired me to organize special trainings for students who failed to clear the exam with extremely difficult backgrounds, says Inspector L Y Rajesh. Out of 85 students trained by Rajesh, 42 have passed.
Inspector L Y Rajesh also helps the students in the revaluation process.
