NEW DELHI: Ola is back with 1,441 electric bikes in the backdrop of a series of EV bikes and battery explosions in several parts of the country.
Ola recovers 1,441 vehicles on Sunday Releasing a statement, Ola said, “The investigation into the fire incident in Pune on March 26 is underway. A preliminary investigation stated that this was a separate issue.
However, ‘As a precautionary measure, we inspect a particular batch of vehicles. So we are voluntarily withdrawing 1,441 vehicles. The recovered scooters are inspected by engineers. They will detect a problem with battery systems, thermal systems and safety systems. Battery systems comply with European ‘ECE-136’ standards. In addition, Ola said it was tested in accordance with India’s latest proposed ‘AIS-156′.
A 40-year-old man was killed and another seriously injured when a bike battery exploded in Vijayawada today. The government has also formed a committee to look into fire hazards. The government has also warned that companies will be penalized if they are negligent in this regard.
