Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has instructed the authorities to make necessary preparations to vaccinate persons in the age group of 3- to 15-18 years in the city’s 8 zones.
Speaking at a review meeting on covid control, it was decided at the meeting to prepare a list of private and government school-colleges and make vaccine staff available at all institutions. Non-governmental organizations should be co-ordinated to help children who are out of school, slum and industrial areas. Health and frontline workers from Jan. 10 have all been prepared to give a booster dose to those over the age of 60.
BBMP Health Special Commissioner Dr KV Trilok Chandra said that 5 lakh children between the ages of 15 and 18 have to be vaccinated. He said a zoning action plan should be prepared to list organizations, beneficiaries and areas where the vaccine campaigns take place.
