NEW DELHI: The people of Delhi-NCR, who are supposed to be celebrating Diwali on Friday, are having problems with morning throat itching, eyes filling with water.
Officials are analyzing the fire condition of Delhi, which is likely to have worsened as a result of the fireworks that started on Thursday evening.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), lung-damaging PM 2.5 Particles have increased in Delhi-N CR in 24 hours. The PM 2.5 level fell to 410 micrograms per cubic meter by 9am on Friday morning. This is 7 times the safety limit of 60 per cubic meter.
The PM10 level has risen to 500 micrograms per cubic meter in Delhi-NCR region by 5 am on Friday and has risen to 511 micrograms by 9 am.
At present, the atmospheric conditions recorded in the Delhi-NCR region are listed in the Graded Response Action Plan (GR AP) Emergency Section at the PM 2.5 and PM10 level, with an estimate of 300 micrograms and 500 micrograms per cubic meter for a further 48 hours or more.
Delhi’s air quality has declined drastically today. Low temperatures and foggy conditions have allowed the accumulation of pollutants.
