The National Legal Services Authority and Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Department of Prisons and Correctional Services have organized “Right of Parole, Remission and Release under Poor Prisoner’s scheme” on Sunday, 31st May, 2026 at 12.00 noon at Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara, Bengaluru.
Hon’ble Shri Justice Vikram Nath, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi has inaugurated the ‘Computer Lab’ (an initiative of R.V. College of Engineering) and ‘TELE MANAS (an initiative of NIMHANS)’ at Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara, Bengaluru.
Hon’ble Shri Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka and Patron-in-Chief, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, Hon’ble Smt. Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Executive Chairperson, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, Shri K.S. Bharath Kumar, Registrar General, High Court of Karnataka; Shri H. Shashidhara Shetty, Member Secretary, KSLSA, Bengaluru; Shri. Sanjiv Pandey, Member Secretary, National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi have accompanied his Lordship during the visit.
During the visit their Lordships have interacted with the inmates who have availed legal aid/services from Legal Aid Defence Counsels, office of DLSA, Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural. Their Lordships also inspected Barracks, Prison Legal Aid Clinic and De-addiction centre.
