The Supreme Court of India has organized a special Lok Adalat titled ‘Samadhan Samaroh-2026’ to facilitate the amicable settlement of pending cases. This three-day event is scheduled to take place on August 21, 22, and 23, 2026.
This information was shared by Hon’ble Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge of the High Court of Karnataka and Executive Chairperson of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), during a press conference held today at the High Court of Karnataka.
Key Highlights of the Special Lok Adalat

Historic Initiative: For the first time, the Supreme Court has identified 4,328 pending cases specifically related to the State of Karnataka for conciliation.

Decentralized Resolution: Interested parties can resolve their disputes at the Taluk or District level through registered legal mediators, eliminating the need to travel to Delhi.

Registration: Registration starts today. Citizens can contact the Taluk, District, or State Legal Services Authority to enroll their cases.

Types of Cases Identified for Settlement
The Supreme Court has prioritized the following categories for this Lok Adalat:

Civil Law and Motor Accident Compensation (MACT)

Consumer disputes and RERA

Criminal (compoundable) and Matrimonial disputes

Labor and Industrial disputes

Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement

Property Tax, Rent Control, and Eviction cases

Transfer Petitions and Service Law matters

A total of 4,328 cases have been identified. The breakdown for major districts includes:

Government Participation
Out of the identified cases, over 937 involve the State Government as a party. Justice Anu Sivaraman noted that discussions have already been held with the Advocate General to ensure a positive response and proactive settlement from the government’s side.
Justice R. Devdas, Judge of the High Court of Karnataka and Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, emphasized that this is a significant opportunity for common citizens to resolve legal battles quickly and cost-effectively, saving both time and money while preserving harmonious relationships.
