Bengaluru : Severe traffic congestion is being faced due to deteriorated roads and this development is seriously affecting the children going to school. Therefore, the residents of Balagere and Varthur have demanded that BBMP to stop the permission given for the construction of apartments.
The residents of Varthur Disha Apartments, who are extremely fed up with the traffic congestion, staged a protest by lighting candles , stopping the traffic on the Balagere-Varthur road.
The place faces traffic from 7 am onwards. School going children are facing huge problems. Orchid School sent the students home who were late .
Jagadish Reddy, a member of Varthur Rising, said, ‘BBMP should first ensure basic amenities like widening of T-junctions, installation of drainage pipes, widening of roads. Apart from this, if new projects are taken up, it will further aggravate the traffic situation. Lack of traffic police to manage the problem at major junctions is another reason for the problem, he said.
