Bengaluru: The government has taken the death of two patients at Vims Hospital in Bellary seriously and a high-level committee has been formed under the leadership of Dr. Smita of BMCRI to conduct an appropriate departmental investigation and report on the administrative and technical lapses, said Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar.
He has also assured that strict legal action will be taken against the officers and staff who caused the tragic death of innocent patients by dereliction of duty as soon as the investigation report of the committee is received.

Two patients died unexpectedly at the Vims Hospital in Bellary yesterday, and this issue was brought up in the assembly proceedings today, leading to a heated argument between the ruling and opposition members. Opposition leader Siddaramaiah alleged that the government is playing with the lives of patients.
