<\/p>\nSilicon City has been hit by heavy rains and most of the roads in Bengaluru have been damaged due to heavy rains.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, closing potholes on the roads has become a major challenge for the authorities.<\/p>\n
The BBMP engineers said that weather conditions were the cause of the roadblocks and on the one hand there was closure and on the other hand rain was pouring in.<\/p>\n
The BBMP western zone engineer said that while gravel was being used to close the potholes, the steady pouring of rain was causing repeated fires.<\/p>\n
60 loads of gravel are required to close the city roads. However, gravel engineers are not getting enough gravel. It is not possible to close the potholes.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, the BBMP has decided to implement Plan B and put up board, posters and banners in the roadside areas. Already Ring Road has put up boards in the outer circle (Horamavu-Hennur) road and requested to be careful with the potholes.<\/p>\n
These banners will be helpful until the gravel is found in sufficient quantities to close the road and completely rained out, the engineer said.<\/p>\n
Motorists looking at these banners and boards of the BBMP are surprised.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, BBMP chief commissioner Gaurav Gupta, in a virtual meeting with the BBMP engineer and chief engineer of all the zones, suggested the closure of the road pits as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
