BENGALURU<\/b> \u2013 In a significant move toward ecological restoration, the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) and a private Foundation have joined forces to plant five crore saplings<\/b> across the state. The initiative, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), specifically targets biodiversity loss, rising pollution levels, and depleting groundwater.<\/p>\n

A Tiered Strategy for Bengaluru<\/h3>\n

The project adopts a structured, concentric-circle approach to reforesting the state capital and its surrounding regions:<\/p>\n

    Inner City (0\u201310 km from Vidhana Soudha):<\/b> Focus on urban cooling and pollution mitigation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Peri-Urban Belt (10\u201330 km):<\/b> 80 lakh saplings<\/b> will be planted to create a green buffer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Rural-Forest Zone (30\u201350 km):<\/b> One crore saplings<\/b> dedicated to restoring biodiversity and strengthening forest fringes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    An additional three crore saplings<\/b> are slated for distribution across other districts, focusing on lake buffer zones, road corridors, institutional campuses, and degraded lands.<\/p>\n
