City dwellers lock themselves in their homes and go out for weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In such a situation, one should be vigilant about home security, as the threat of burglaries is high in cities, <strong>Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda IPS<\/strong> has warned. Giving information about the recent crime and theft cases in the city through a press conference, he also advised the public on what safety measures to take. He has instructed that Bengaluru residents should be extra careful before leaving home early or going on a trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He advised not to keep perishable items at home when going on a long trip. It is better to keep them in a bank or lockers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Inform the police if you are going on a long trip.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>The house should have a quality lock installed. Install CCTV cameras. Don&#8217;t make a habit of leaving the key somewhere near the house. If you are going on a trip for more than a day, inform the local police before leaving. In such a case, it will be easier for the police to patrol the area, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Be careful when hiring domestic workers.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Don&#8217;t lose your hard-earned money and gold due to a small carelessness. Thieves can come not only from outside but also from inside the house. Therefore, before hiring domestic helpers, know their background properly. Don&#8217;t let the helpers roam around the house.
