“No power in the world can control what we do as judges<\/strong>.\u00a0We have the power to make decisions.\u00a0It is subject to our conscience and the provision of law,\u201d said Supreme Court Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oak.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oak. spoke at a national seminar on \u201c <\/span>Judicial Services: Opportunity and Challenge\u201d<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0organized by KLE Society’s Law College, Rajajinagar, Bangalore and on behalf of Samutkarsh Trust at KLE Nijalingappa College Hall on Saturday<\/span><\/p>\n

“We are an independent person. We have the ability and opportunity to make excellent and qualitative judgments. This is the importance of the post of judge,” .-Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oak<\/strong>\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Compared to the past, now there are better job opportunities in the Judicial sector, better pay and allowances. There is respect in the society.\u00a0Therefore, law students<\/strong> should get over the idea that they are not better than those in other fields,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThose appointed as civil justices will get an approximate salary of Rs 95,000 to Rs 1.05 lakh.\u00a0The salary of a Senior Civil Judge will cross Rs 1.5 lakh. Along with this there are allowances.\u00a0In view of all this, law students should think about job opportunities in the Judicial service,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe work of all judges, from the Supreme Court to civil judges, is the same.\u00a0Civil judges are at the stage of deciding the most pressing issues of the people.\u00a0It must be understood that the work of a District Judge, civil, is no different from that of a Judge in the Constitutional Courts.\u00a0Civil courts are not inferior courts.\u00a0Civil judges deal with problems of common people every day.<\/strong>\u00a0Civil judges will provide solutions to their problems,”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“In any state, now per cent.\u00a0I see a change where 40-50% of judges are women.\u00a0This is a welcome change,”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
