{"id":1344,"date":"2022-08-22T02:16:27","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T02:16:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anticorruptiontv.com\/?p=1344"},"modified":"2022-08-22T02:16:27","modified_gmt":"2022-08-22T02:16:27","slug":"sexual-assault-on-a-minor-girl-65-year-old-man-sentenced-to-life-imprisonment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anticorruptiontv.com\/index.php\/2022\/08\/22\/sexual-assault-on-a-minor-girl-65-year-old-man-sentenced-to-life-imprisonment\/","title":{"rendered":"Sexual assault on a minor girl, 65-year-old man sentenced to life imprisonment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span>Shimoga:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0A <strong>POCSO court<\/strong> here sentenced a <strong>65-year-old man<\/strong> to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.\u00a0Accused Nagappa paid <strong>Rs.\u00a060,000 fine<\/strong> was imposed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On September 13, 2020, the accused Nagappa sexually harassed a girl in a village of Shimoga taluk.\u00a0When the minor girl went to the farm, she was sexually assaulted there.\u00a0In this connection, women police had registered a case against Nagappa.\u00a0Mahila Thane Inspector <strong>Abhay Prakash Somanal<\/strong> conducted the inquiry and registered a Charge sheet against Nagappa.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Public Prosecutor Hari Prasad<\/strong> argued for the prosecution.\u00a0Additional District and Sessions Court Judge JS Mohan Nagappa held him guilty under <strong>Section 6 of the POCSO Act<\/strong>, 2012 and announced the verdict on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In case the accused fails to pay the fine, he will have to undergo simple imprisonment for an additional six months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shimoga:\u00a0\u00a0A POCSO court here sentenced a 65-year-old man to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.\u00a0Accused Nagappa paid Rs.\u00a060,000 fine was imposed.
