{"id":1262,"date":"2022-05-25T02:10:31","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T02:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anticorruptiontv.com\/?p=1262"},"modified":"2022-05-25T02:10:31","modified_gmt":"2022-05-25T02:10:31","slug":"panchayat-elections-court-directs-government-to-complete-obc-reservation-and-delimitation-in-12-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anticorruptiontv.com\/index.php\/2022\/05\/25\/panchayat-elections-court-directs-government-to-complete-obc-reservation-and-delimitation-in-12-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"Panchayat elections: Court directs government to complete OBC reservation and delimitation in 12 weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span>Bengaluru: <\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0The <strong>High Court of Karnataka<\/strong> has directed the state government to complete the <strong>OBC reservation<\/strong> and delimitation in <strong>12 weeks<\/strong> for the panchayat elections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Court has instructed the <strong>State Election Commission (SEC)<\/strong> to issue a notification within one week of completing these proceedings, not to take more than 12 weeks for the State Government to complete the proceedings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Justice\u00a0<\/strong><span><strong>Rituraj Awasthi and Justice Ashok S. Kinagi<\/strong>\u00a0. <\/span><span>The Divisional Bench, which , had filed an application filed by the SEC. <\/span><span>The new law has challenged the authority to decide on reservation for the seats of T<strong>aluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayats<\/strong>, to finalize seats, to carry out the process of delimitation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The SEC has called for a speedy hearing in the wake of the Supreme Court&#8217;s order to hold local bodies elections.\u00a0<\/span><span>The <strong>Karnataka Gram Swaraj and the Panchayat Raj<\/strong> (Amendment) Act, 2021, was enacted by
