Bengaluru<\/strong> : High court Justice and executive chairman of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority Justice B Veerappa<\/strong>, and High Court Legal Services Committee chairman Justice BS Dinesh Kumar,<\/strong> along with others, paid a surprise visit to Central Prison –Parappana Agrahara.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to the media , Justice B Veerappa<\/strong> said that the report was obtained by visiting women and male prisoners separately. Inspection of sanitation, toilet barracks, food supply, pharmacy, hospital, bath houses. Mr. Shashidhar Shetty <\/strong>Member-Secretary, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority<\/strong> told that the \u00a0visit comes in the backdrop of allegations of prison officials indulging in malpractices and giving preferential treatment to a few inmates for money.<\/p>\n

All of the prisons are in proper order during the inspection.\u00a0That may not be the case.\u00a0He said that such visits would be monitored in the future.<\/p>\n
