Stated in the interim order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Additional Solicitor General<strong> MB Naragund<\/strong> had asked the state government to take up the issue with the state government to discuss its decision.<\/p>\n<p><span>Advocate General Prabhuling K informed the Navdagi High Court that four lakh students have already been selected from the Kannada language.\u00a0<\/span><span>Admission is now closed.\u00a0<\/span><span>The students who applied have learned Kannada upto 12th grade.\u00a0<\/span><span>Advocates therefore argue that they should not have any objections to learning Kannada in higher education.\u00a0<\/span><span>The hearing has been postponed by the Central Government to clarify its stand in 4 weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bengaluru :\u00a0Karnataka High Court has directed the state government not to make Kannada compulsory in higher education.\u00a0 Justice Niruraj and Nathuraj.\u00a0Sachin Shankar Magadum&#8217;s divisional bench said, &#8220;The petitions filed against the government&#8217;s decision to make Kannada compulsory in higher education under the NEP -2020 are pending.
